Last night, MrPilot and I finally decided on a name for my 1989 BMW 750iL. Her new name is: Freya. Why Freya? Freya is the name of one of the Norse goddessess, and she has a number of attributes that make the name a good fit for my car:
- Goddess of love and beauty (really great looking car)
- Warrior goddess (V12 engine, 300 horsepower)
- Her chariot is pulled by cats (I love cats)
- She’s from the same area that my name is (Fjord)
I’ll get some pictures posted to the photo gallery as soon as I get MrPilot’s digital camera working.

Bimmer? Wouldn’t it be spelled “Beemer” or “Beamer”?

Negatory. As any true BMW ethusiast knows, it’s spelled bimmer.

Nice. It took me over a year to name my car.
Hooray for naming cars! I’ve been shocked at how many people I’ve met at school who forget about that important aspect of car-ownership.

Oh definitely, almost all the cars my family owns and have owned have a name (except the van for some reason). Same with all my computers. Even my Palm PDA has a name (Tembo).
