DC Trip with Mom

A couple weeks ago, my mom came to visit. We had a great time sleeping in, hanging out, and seeing the sights of Washington, D.C. (If we don’t look to happy in the pictures, it’s just because the sun was in our eyes!) The main things we toured were the Supreme Court and the Library of Congress, both of which I highly recommend if you haven’t been before. We also went to the United States Botanical Gardens. They were pretty, but neither my mom nor I are botanists, so it was hard to appreciate it all when we didn’t know what we were looking at.

The church I’ve been going to has a beautiful pipe organ, but they don’t currently have anyone to play it. So, my mom volunteered to help out with the service music for Palm Sunday. As a result, we spent a lot of time at the church practicing, which was great because both of us got to know some people from church a lot better than if we had just come to the service. Of course, my mom did a great job (and I finally got to hear the pipe organ!), and everyone in church was trying to convince her to move to Maryland so they could have an organist every Sunday.
